PDF -> epub German spezial letter problem
Well as the title says i have the ONLY problem that when converting that German special letters are not recognized and replaced through others.
Is there a possibility of configuration to prevent this. The rest like paragraphs, index, images etc. is fine.

Letters are: Ä, Ö, Ü, ä, ö, ü and ß
For example a simple solution would be to convert ö to or, etc.

In the conversion settings, do you have "Transliterate unicode characters to ASCII" accidentally checked?

No i have not.

Example:
Should be Milchstraße but is MilchstraÄe
Should be Kämpfen but is KÅmpfen
etc.

It happens also when converting pdf to HTML, etc.
Very strange.

Just tried a online converting service, same problem.

Perhaps the file encoding is off then?

No this will be caused by the PDF in question using non-unicode fonts. See http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/conv...-pdf-documents
