EBook re-releases: so far 2015 is a good year for us crime fiction lovers (I think)
One of the good things about ebooks are re-releases imho. I bought a Kindle NT in 2012 to get my hand on some 70/80s crime & mystery only available as ebooks. And that could have been the end of my digital reader career - as some of the books were done quick and dirty with scan artifacts, sloppy punctuation and formatting ... But I upgraded to a Kindle PW1, learned about all kind of modifications, hacks, book editing and am a happy bunny (and more tolerant to the errors).
Now 2015 has seen the re-emergence of the Molly Cates novels by Mary Willis Walker (Under the Beetle's Cellar from 1995 has won the Hammett Prize, the Anthony Award for Best Novel and the Macavity Award for Best Novel) and of the James Pibble novels by Peter Dickinson (also multiple award wins here - but at the moment the prize is rather high at amazon.com). Some of these books have been out-of-print for many years. My hopes for more re-releases (top three) are: - Jack Stryker & Kate Trevorne series by Paula Gosling - Appalachian Ballad series by Sharyn McCrumb - The Money Harvest by Ross Thomas What are yours (crime & mystery or other genres)? |

For me one of the highlights will be the release of the remaining "Campion" novels of Margery Allingham, which are due to be released in May.

Of the ones currently available in ebook, which one title would you recommend for someone who hasn't read anything by Allingham?

It's many, many years since I read them. I've been holding off doing so until the entire series was available in ebook form, because I always like to read a series in order and, annoyingly, the first book in the series ("The Crime at Black Dudley") is one of the ones that's not being released until May. Perhaps someone else could make a suggestion?

Wrong drawer! - Sorry for that
@Dr.Drib I've read some of the post-war Campion novels lately and enjoyed "More Work for the Undertaker" and "The Tiger in the Smoke". Iirc Mr Keating did include these in his list "Crime & Mystery - The 100 Best Books" - so there is that ![]() |

Thanks Mandy and Harry.
I've just now read the reviews, on Amazon, of 'More Work for the Undertaker.' I like the idea of eccentric characters, which this one seems to have plenty of, so I think I'll pick up that one when I get a good coupon. |

I've been waiting for the Miss Seeton cozy mystery series by Heron Carvic. I've about worn out my paper copies.
