Maximum temperature for a working device?

Well it's way too hot here in Sydney today, currently 39C in my house and only a few degrees cooler outside under the shade trees. (And the wind was NNW and is now N - and hopefully expecting a coolish change, well by 10C anyway.) (We don't have air conditioning and no point using fans because it's only hot air that gets generated.)

Anyone know what the max temp is for a working Glo? Yep - I'm sitting under the trees reading a Catriona McPherson book set in Dec (winter) in a small coastal village way up the north east coast of Scotland - where they're suffering freezing winds, rain and occasional snow flurries - arhh - I start to chill out reading about it, lol.)

I know I've experienced missed page turns and the like in the summer in Canada (especially when I'm sitting in a mini-van waiting for a client with no A/C running).

Here it is:

Found at http://www.kobo.com/userguides/ in the LEGAL & SAFETY download

Quote:
Avoid storing your device in temperatures lower than -10° and higher than 60° C (14° to 140° F). Operation of the device should occur in temperatures between 0° and 45° C (32° to 113° F). Dramatic changes in temperature or humidity may affect the functioning of the device due to the formation of condensation.

I have noticed that e-ink screens start to kind of lag a little when it's too cold. Not sure how they would react when it's too hot.
I will say that in general electronics tend to operate best within normal temperatures that are neither too hot or too cold so I'd say if you're having an extreme of either, it may be better to seek less extreme conditions by moving to another part of wherever you are

As an aside... this morning here
Quote:
The city will see a mix of sun and cloud with at a low of -13 C (-23 C with wind chill) in the morning and a high of -7 C (-12 C with wind chill) in the afternoon.
Want some cold? It's been a weird winter here; little snow, lots of cold days and nights, but also stretches of above 0 C days and nights.

And of course; this is the year I had broken down and bought a small electric snow-blower.

Weird winter is putting it mildly. While we've been in the 20s-30s F the last week and a half, January already has given us a few days of -40° F with windchill. It makes you put more thought into how many layers you're piling on your body to shovel snow. And apparently it's never too cold to snow I'm finding out this winter.

Nod to the -40 with windchill; have seen that here too. And yes, multiple layers are essential.

Lol. Where I am at the moment, it clocked -37 before windchill the other day. It was -50 with the wind. That's Celsius. Beautiful but deadly. Worst of all, it made my e-reader ghost.

You almost make me feel jealous. We reached 32ºC and 35ºC the last two days. But, I can state that my Glo had no problems.

Reading those messages make me feel happy that I live on the Wet Coast. Just the occasional road flooding from the Pineapple Express -- the roses in bloom on the balcony seem to be doing well and my H2O is waterproof.

Hmmm... where did I leave those plans for an ark...
