Troubleshooting DX: File system corrupt?

I unplugged the DX when Calibre was scanning it. (OK, it was dumb.) Books disappeared and 2 gig of space on the DX vanished. Scan and Repair was successful but it did not solve the problem. The DX seems to be working normally at this point but would like to recover the lost disk space.

Does anyone know what I can do about this?

Did you try a factory reset?

I didn't want to have to do that and reload all my books but thanks for encouraging me to do that.

I worked and now I will reload my books.
