Promise Forever by Christine Bush is the 1st in her New Commitment series of mystery-with-strong-romantic-elements (the author's bio-blurb describes her as having won awards for her "romantic mystery" novels) which may actually be straight-up romantic suspenses, but this is filed under dedicated-genre mystery and cozy in the categories as well as contemporary romance, so maybe you want to give it a try if you like your cozies really romance-y, this installment starring a plucky gardening columnist turned would-be investigative reporter, free courtesy of publisher ePublishing Works! (exclamation mark theirs), who are e-printing it from its 1992 Avalon Books (now acquired and transmuted into Amazon's exclusive Montlake romance imprint) edition which originally came out as "Deadline for Danger" which IMHO is a much better title.

This has technically previously been offered free at least once before in mid-2014, but it's never been mentioned on MR, so I'm going to treat is a new freebie for the purposes of the daily thread count, since I've already bumped up an old thread for one of the author's repeats and I might as well post her "new" one in the same batch.
