Aura Aura refresh worse than Glo?

I've just bought my partner a Kobo Aura and I have a Kobo Glo. Both devices have been upgraded to the latest 3.12 firmware.

The annoying "flash" on moving between pages is much more noticable on the Aura than on my Glo. We've played around with the page refresh settings but can't seem to improve things.

Curiously, the Glo firmware offers increments of a single page for the refresh (I have mine on 6) where the Aura offers increments of 5 pages or by chapter. (The Aura is currently set to every 5 pages, but we have played with all the settings and they don't seem to make any difference).

Is there a way to make this "page turn" flash less noticable on the Aura or does is this just a backward step we have to put up with? All suggestions gratefully received.

Are they both on the latest firmware? My Aura has the every-page refresh option.

The way page refreshing is done on the Aura is different to all the other Kobo devices. It something to do with the exact screen used. The ghosting should be less and Kobo decided to offer different options for the refresh frequency. Unfortunately, there is something wrong with this in firmware 3.12.0. Kobo have stated it is fixed for the next firmware release. I have no idea when this will be.
