Thumbs up Free (nook/Kindle/PDF) Remarkable Women: Interviews With… [Chicago Local Journalism]

Remarkable Women: Interviews with Inspiring Chicagoland Women by the Chicago Tribune Staff is a collection of their newspaper articles profiling and interviewing a broad variety of Exactly What It Says In The Title, featuring locally prominent persons from a wide variety of fields, ranging from businesswomen to educators to philanthropists to artists, free courtesy of publisher Agate's Digital imprint.

Currently free, probably just until the weekend @ B&N and Amazon (not available to Canadians), and directly @ the publisher's website (DRM-free PDF available worldwide).

And this has been the selected 3rd (non-repeat) free ebook thread of the day.

Because it's really nice to see stuff highlighting the accomplishments of "ordinary" people who aren't celebrities or famous-in-their-field, yet still achieved a lot in life and contributed a great deal to their local communities, and wind up being acknowledged with a bit of international attention, kind of.

Enjoy!

Description
A collection of articles from the Chicago Tribune's popular feature that profiles the life of a different Chicago-area woman every week, telling their most fascinating stories from youth through to the present. These women are everyday examples of inspiring, hardworking, and determined role models whose successes are too often overshadowed.

These are stories of women who make a positive difference in society and their surrounding environments. From nonprofit organizers to business executives, local educators to community leaders, and athletes to artists, this book features an eclectic mix of women who run the professional gamut. What they all share, though, is what lends the series its name: they are simply remarkable.
