Upgrade Calibre from 0.9.25 to latest 2.xx
I've just resurrected an old PC (Win 7, 32 bit) running Calibre 0.9.25. The library contains different books to my main Calibre library and I don't want to merge them. Obviously I want to upgrade to 2.16 but should I update to 1.xx first?

Calibre will migrate the DB schema if needed. Just give it time to complete the install

Backup of a Library is always a good idea before taking a 'big step'

You can update directly to 2.x

but as theducks said backup your books first.
