Metadata Download Failure

When I was on 2.0 metadata download worked. Updated to 2.10 and it quit working. Updated to 2.15 today and it still doesn't work.

Worked on this for a couple hours today. Uninstalled most of the plugins I use and finally restarted with the --ignore_plugins option. Still would not download metadata.

I don't use a proxy and have made sure the proxy option was unchecked in I.E.

I've tested my internet speed and I'm currently pulling 10Mb down and 756Kb up

If I take the URL created from the Amazon section and paste it into a browser it will pull up a page with two of the books on it that I'm searching for.

http://www.amazon.com/s/?sort=releva...ias=stripbooks

I couldn't find a solution when searching so any suggestions on how to resolve this is greatly appreciated.

Here is the log file from a metadata search for a single book:

Spoiler:

calibre, version 2.15.0
ERROR: No matches found:
Failed to find any books that match your search. Try making the search less specific. For example, use only the author's last name and a single distinctive word from the title.
To see the full log, click Show Details.

Well, now I feel like a doofus.

I'd tested with the A/V firewall off and it didn't work. Turned the A/V totally off and it worked. Guess it's time to change A/V :P

^-^ - we x-posted - no need to feel bad, you didn't do it, your AV vendor did it.

@MrKoffee - Ensure calibre is not blocked in your firewall, or some other component of your security infrastructure

Updates to security suites have been known to take it upon themselves to block applications, including calibre, for reasons only known to the security suite vendor. To my knowledge most of the usual suspects have done it at least once - some are serial offenders.

Any good A/V will let you 'white list', even if they disagree with the user.
