Marvin sync problem

Syncing between my iPhone and iPad worked fine for a while. For some reason, now my iPhone will not sync to the ipad, but the ipad will sync to the iPhone. Even if the iPhone is behind the ipad. (Related question: why would anyone want to go backward in a book?) So, how do I get them in sync again and stop it from doing this in the future? I'm synced through Dropbox.

I wish someone would answer this. It's still happening even with a new book. My iPhone will not sync to my ipad location, but vice versa works fine. Is this the way it's supposed to work?

Kris really doesn't follow this forum anymore and is more focused on his new reader app, Gerty.

We all got a little spoiled by his active engagement here during Marvin's initial development, but it's kind of rare to get that level of support forever.

You can try Kris's Twitter feed (@MarvinReader) - he usually responds there, if only on an "I'll look into it, thanks" level.

I really like Marvin and hope Kris returns to the forum on a regular basis, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Even Philantrop has pretty much dropped out.

That's too bad since they really don't have any way to report issues or get help. All I can do is leave negative feedback in the app store, which really doesn't do me or them any good.

Do you have data (and Marvin allowed to use data) or WiFi on when you read so when you exit the eBook it writes out the location?

Do you immediately try to get the location?

What is your process?

You can try Kris's GitHub bug/feature tracker. He occasionally pops in there.

I think Kris got burned out by the non-stop requests/demands that this forum became. I read an interview with him that essentially said he got trapped into a corner with Marvin by fulfilling so many requests that the code base became impossible for him to move in the direction he wanted to take it. Hence, Gerty - the reader he really wanted to make. Marvin is an important enough app that he still develops it (or his team does - he's mentioned other coders [students?] before). But it's not a passion project any more. He's working on 3.0 but doesn't have a timeframe other than "not soon". There will be a 64-bit upgrade sometime in the next month or so as otherwise Apple will pull the app from the App Store by July.
