Extract cover from zip/rar

Hello.
Wasn't sure whether to create a new topic. Decided to post in a related one.
Is there a Calibre plugin which lets you choose cover from inside archive(rar, zip). I catalog a few comic files, and it's a hassle to get the cover.

@xd1986k - If the zip/rar is a solid archive of images, calibre will convert to cbz/cbr when you add the archive, if you have Preferences->Add Books->Read metadata from file contents rather than file name checked, then the first image will be extracted as the cover.

Also note author and title will be always taken from the file name for solid archives that contain nothing but images.

Otherwise you'll have to drag 'n' drop the relevant image out of the archive to say your desktop, and then from there to the book details panel where I assume you see a brown cover. You probably wont be able to drag 'n' drop directly from the archive to the calibre book details panel.

When I import Zips & Rars into a Calibre library with the preferences: 'Preferences->Add Books->Read metadata from file contents rather than file name', I dont get any covers displaying even after doing an 'edit metadata in bulk' and 'set the covers to internal'. What does work that I've found is to convert them all to epubs then 'edit metadata in bulk' and 'set covers to internal'.

an image file is not automagically a cover (even if it is named cover.jpg).
The OPF declares this use. No OPF. No use.

Thanks for the reply. While your suggestion works for those in which the images are in the top level folder. It doesn't for the rest(i.e images located deeper than the top level folder)
btw the drag and drop actually works.
