Question Boeye (Boyue) D81 -- Dual Display (E-Ink and IPS-LCD 8")
I saw this on their home page today:

Looks cool but I couldn't find anything about it using Google and their website doesn't contain much info as usual!


They've released some cool eReaders in recent years including the Boyue T61 and T62 models which use Android. T61 is mostly known as "Icarus Illumina E653" (some other companies released re-branded versions of T61 too).

In 2012 there were some rumors about Amazon filing a patent about a tablet with displays on both side, one LCD and one E-Ink!

Why is it a crazy idea? They probably didn't make it because they couldn't sell it at a price near current kindles! Or maybe such product would've made buying other kindle models absurd!

This reminds me of those dual-boot Windows and Android phones that even Samsung was going to produce them but then both Microsoft and Google prevented it from happening (but there are lots of Chinese products now doing this anyway and people are happy using 'em)!

It is crazy in the sense that it sounds infeasible to do at decent price.
