Getting updated cover to show on Aura HD
I've been trying to solve the following issues for a few hours now and it's driving me crazy!
I uploaded a series of books to my reader yesterday. Today, after some help with Calibre I wanted to copy the books to my reader again so the titles are shown differently. since I'm uploading the series again I decided I might as well change the covers of the books so they all match. Everything fine so far. BUT. Of the 10 books of the series there is 1 book that will not show the updated cover. It keeps displaying the old cover no matter what I do. I've deleted the .kobo.images (or however it's called) folder from the reader. I noticed the old cover was put at the end of the book, so I edited the book and deleted the image as well as the last page. I've got another version of the book and edited the metadata to be the same and tried uploading that one. No matter what I do, the kobo will display the old cover of that one particular book. |

Try using the Kobo Utility calibre plugin to load covers.

thnx again PeterT.
I forgot to mention. I already tried the Kobo Utility Plugin, but it doesn't work. I also tried to activate Polish book, but that also doesn't help. edit: what's also very weird is the following: Under my collection the book shows up with the old cover. But when you press and hold the book, a menu pops up. When you select view details, it will show the new cover! But just not in the library or in the collection. edit 2: Powering the reader off and then on again finally did the trick. Perhaps the old image needed to be purged from the RAM or something? Nod for the power off. I. Thought that was documented somewhere!

It very well might be. But I've read so much different threads today that either I didn't read it, or forgot it already.
I have to say that setting up you Aura HD to your liking is way harder than it should be. I don't see my 60 year old father (who otherwise is quite savvy with a pc btw) being able to figure it out. |

The answers is a memory cache. A number of covers are kept in memory.I haven't bothered to try and work out how many, but it is probably a different number for each size or purpose. Powering off is the only way to clear it completely.
