unbelievable ... M96 lost in US somewhere!

Hi Folks,

If you have encountered me before, you know I had a pretty lousy experience with a bum M92, which I won't go over again.

Perhaps (to put it mildly) foolishly, I decided to try again with an M96 thinking "well, it's got to be better this time -- it HAS to."

Well.

DHL got my M96 package to the US, but from New York it was for some reason misrouted to Morrill, Maine (population 884). It at least went THROUGH Boston. And Morrill, Maine is where the tracking trail ends. I've spoken to scads of US postal service people and no one can tell me ANYTHING. I've talked to the Morrill post office twice. Nothing.

Oddly, if I use the original DHL tracking number it is claimed on their site that the thing is going to be readdressed and routed to the correct place. I don't know how they know that -- I emailed them, but they disavow all knowledge and responsibility.

If it wound up at one of the few hundred houses in Morrill, perhaps whoever wound up with it will be good enough to bring it to the post office ... ?

So I've got a couple of messages in to Booxtor. My luck continues completely stinky.

/Glenn

Hi, Glenn,

don't worry. I have started investigation by DHL and it will push delivery definitely. In any case, if they don't deliver it within of 10 days I will send a new M96 to you.

Wow. After TWO WEEKS of nothing, I got an update text from the crack team at the US Postal Service telling me that my package is now in Scarborough, ME.

It is moving in the right direction -- even if Scarborough is not even a town ... it's a "census-designated place" ... but maybe there is some enormous USPS facility there -- who knows?

I expect the package to pass through Boston on its way south to Guatemala any day now.

I forgot to say "Thanks, Booxtor!"

I don't know if you get the credit the package's re-appearance, but I do appreciate your work.

Randy11,

Thank you. It's true, my luck with these things seems almost supernaturally bad. Good thing I don't believe in that stuff.

And I got a notice yesterday that the package was in Cambridge! I could potentially see it tomorrow (I'd say today but it usually takes things at least a day to get through the mail system at work)!

If it makes you feel better, I had a package that I bought off a certain auction site bounce between Des Moines, Iowa (where I live) and Pennsylvania (where it was shipped from) FOUR TIMES before it finally decided to turn up at my house.

If this helps - Scarborough is surely a town - of about 16,000 people - and a suburb of Portland. That would be the Portland region USPS facility. Maybe your device has found you by now!

I once ordered a device from Banggood in Hong Kong, and it took a couple of weeks for it to leave China, let alone get to the US!
