How do I get the mimetype file back where it belongs?

I am getting an error in the editor that the mimetype file listed in the manifest is missing.

I suspect that the mimetype file has somehow ended up in the wrong place as I can see it listed in the Miscellaneous folder; yet the mimetype file does not even show up in File Browser for my other ebooks.

If I try "correct all fixable errors automatically" it then tells me

mimetype
This file is not listed in the book manifest.

The ebook needs to be compatible with a wide range of readers. How do I get the mimetype file back to where it belongs please and the content.opf listing it properly. Or can I get away with just letting mimetype stay not listed in the manifest?

in anticipation.

Kind regards,

William

this is the original error:
Error [1 / 2]
content.opf (line: 48)
A file listed in the manifest is missing, you should either remove it from the manifest or add the missing file to the book.
Remove the entry for mimetype from the manifest

<Watching this thread>

I have see other files end up in the wrong place (usually Misc).
I suspect the Manifest was wrong, thus the mess I see.

I tried Dragging from Misc to 'CSS' or 'Fonts' (those the usual culprits true home). No joy.

Right click offers no (Move to, Reclassify) solution.

For some files, I exported (to desktop), Then Added them back, where they landed in the proper place

SAVE Before trying
For your 'mimetype' file, I suspect the Remove option shown will force a new one to be generated on the next save

Just delete the file.

@theducks: Classification into categories is based on declared media types in the OPF. If you want to change classification, change the media type in the opf.
