Collections confusion (no sync)

On cloud and PW2 I have a collection called "DELETE", it had 42 books.
This am on my pc I went to MYK and deleted the 42 books.

Cloud "DELETE" collection is now empty
PW2 "DELETE" collection still shows the 42 books.

In MYK settings Whispersync is ON, PW2 is on Wifi, I selected "Sync and check for items" in Menu, no change.

I tried to delete/remove the "DELETE" collection from PW2, then I re-selected it from the one in Cloud which is empty, well the 42 books are still showing on the PW2.

Just sent an email to Amazon support, but I think you guys know more than they do.

Are these Amazon books or ones you emailed to their cloud?. If they were in personal docs in MYK you need to manually delete them from the device.

Docs not in the cloud have an option to Delete. If they are in the cloud the option is to Remove.

A collection won't disappear from the device view unless it's empty. As Josie says, you need to delete the books that are in the collection. No need to involve Amazon.

I am confused, what is the best way to permanently delete Amazon ebooks from everywhere, cloud and device(s).

I thought that MYK was the answer.

Just trying to get rid of ebooks and clean up collections w/o deleting same book in several places. Thank you both for your time.

Delete it from several places.

Because... the book(s) is in several places.

Because the book is a personal document if you want it gone permanently you do it in two ways.

1- remove the book from your device and after that delete it from MYK

Or

2-delete from MYK and afterwards delete from the device.

It's only Amazon bought books that get deleted from your Kindle if you delete from MYK.

I may be wrong on that tbh I rarely buy from Amazon and don't delete. I've deleted a few if hubbys but we always remove them from the device first.

I have only Amazon books on Kindles.

I am trying to clean up my act, about 1500 books in cloud. 90% Of them I will never re-read.
This year I also started to give away our real books, we had close to 80 moving boxes, plus full bookcases. We could have started a used book store.

As Josie says, you need to delete the books that are in the collection. No need to involve Amazon.
