PRS-T1 Home button suddenly not working

I bought a new ereader and want to sell my old T1.

The T1 was rooted and a bit screwed up through a lot of playing around, but ll in all it was working ok and most notably all the buttons were working.

So I made a factory reset to return it to its original state and since then everything is working EXCEPT the home button doesn't do anything anymore. I then updated to the latest firmware from the sony site, but the phenomenon is still the same.

Any advice on this?

EDIT: Case closed! Another factory reset solved the problem. Weird though...
