Deciphering the GUI: What does it mean???

I'm obviously new to Calibre and am baffled by the labyrinthine nature of the program. I don't understand from the get go why some entries have a green check mark and others in the same library do not; some are labeled 'Main' and others obviously in the same location are not? Can anyone expatiate? The help information does not!

Those check marks mean the book in your library has been matched to a book on your device.

That way, you know which books are already there and don't need to be sent.

@thomaspolk - Have you watched these ==>> Calibre Video Tutorials

I think its best to watch the Grand Tour as bite-size topics, and then go and 'do' whatever it was covered in the topic.

Calibre has two main modes with and without a device (Kindle, Sony Tab, Kobo Reader etc) connected.

That's what the green tick and Main are referring to, green tick indicates Book is on the device at its stored in the Device Main Memory - they wont be there is no connected device.
