PRS505 Half screen doesn't show.

Hi there ,
I bought a used eReader and after 1 day half a screen (the bottom half) shows blank. The reader didn't fall or anything like that , I tried to hard reset it , but still half the ebook don't "paint".

Does anyone have any idea what could cause it ? Any chance to fix it ?

How can I know how much warranty do I have on it ?

If half the screen is just entirely blank, and you're sure that the battery isn't flat, then it sounds as though the screen controller has failed. This will need to be repaired by Sony. Is the Sony's warranty "transferrable" from the original owner?

I'm sure the battery isn't flat because the top half screen shows ok , and all pages flipping fast. I did get the original warranty paper in the prs505 box , but didn't get any invoice nor a receipt.

How can I check if the warrany transferable ? and if its not , how much fixing it should cost ???

Your best bet is probably calling Sony. Maybe they can find the manufactuaring date from the serial number.

Sounds like a broken screen, but perhaps not a cracked one. Argue vehemently with the Sony customer support people that you did not break the screen (it's not even broken), and it must be a hardware error. Otherwise, you're SOL.
