I have a Mac that is running 10.5.8 software. On the Calibre site its telling me to download calibre version 1.48.0 but its not working and I put it in the folder the instructions say to. But the computer won't let me install it.I think the problem is my processor it is 1.8 GHz PowerPC G5. Anyway is there a version at all I can install on this old computer?

Thanks so much! My tablet is out of use until next month and I can't be without my books.

Is the 2.12 database compatible with 0.7.28 release of Calibre.
For a while, since my MacPro needs to be repaired, I will be obliged to use my old PowerMac G5 ... |

I dont think so, a lot has changed. I suggest making a cooy of the whole library and using Library Maintenance ==> Restore Database from the old version... at least, if that functionality was around back then?
Or importing into a new library using Add books ==> one books per subdirectory, assumes each file is the same book in a different format, and adding from the root of the old library. |

@Kovid
is it easy to add DB_Version (the first calibre to use it) to the Version number display? Or add: About menu to the 'Help' menu with all the gory internal details (like Sigil did) |
