Free (nook/Kindle/iTunes/ePub) Homemade Humble Pie [Xtian Literary Stories w/Recipes]

Homemade Humble Pie: and Other Slices of Life by Annette Smith is a themed collection of her heartwarming fictionalized "true life"-style contemporary/literary shorts, free courtesy of Christian publisher Baker's Revell imprint.

Disappointingly, this doesn't come with as many actual pie recipes as the title* would imply, but I did skim through the book far enough to make sure that there was at least one.

Currently free, probably just for a day @ B&N, Amazon UK (slated to drop in the main store after midnight Pacific Time), Kobo & iTunes & Google Play (all available to Canadians), and Christian Book (ADE-DRM ePub available worldwide).

Description
From Philip Gulley to Chicken Soup books, short stories are everywhere! And readers can't get enough.

In Homemade Humble Pie Annette Smith offers a collection of 26 heartwarming and wonderfully quirky stories about fictional characters we all seem to know. She dips into her experience as a friend and neighbor to cook up slice-of-life tales about people of all ages and walks of life. Smith's book introduces readers to an array of interesting characters--an elderly couple deeply committed to each other, newlyweds who argue about the mail, three-year-old twins who embarrass their mother, a church volunteer in a bind, and more.

The stories, some sensitive, some humorous, are written to help readers see the beauty and joy in everyday experiences and appreciate the people in their lives. Homemade Humble Pie makes a great gift, too. Once readers encounter these charming characters, they will want to share the stories with a friend.

* I suppose the Chicken Soup for the Soul books don't actually come with actual† chicken soup recipes, which is a shame.

† Though I suspect that to be demographically accurate, the Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul one would have to mainly consist of microwaveable off-the-shelf instant stuff in convenient pre-packaged paper cups and "Auntie Alice's Awesome Leftover Libations".

Now a repeat freebie in the original stores (may also drop @ B&N UK later in the morning as Baker freebies sometimes do).
