Transfer Kepub to H20 with Calibre server
Hi
When I use the Server option of Calibre to copy Ebooks by WIFI on my H20, only Epub format is working. When I select the Kepub button nothing happens. I think it's because the Kepub extension is not recognized by the Reader. Do you know if this issue will be fixed one day or this Kepub button will be useless forever? |

I believe the file needs to be named .kepub.epub ...

Yes, that is the problem. Kepubs in the calibre library have the extension ".kepub". It needs to be changed to ".kepub.epub" for the Kobo browser to download them and see them as kepubs. I hacked the server code once to prove this, but haven't had a chance to return to it and do it properly.

In the library, the book file has to have ".kepub" as the extension. What is needed is to change the server code to rename the file when it is being sent.

I should think it would be more apropos to do that in the source, not as an end-user modification.

The changes needed are in two files. Basically, the change is set the extension of the book file to "kepub.epub" in the link and then send that as the file when it is downloaded.
I have done a little testing of the changes and they seem to work. But, they are of the quick and dirty kind and based on my memory of doing this before. There are a couple of other things that could be done, but I'm not sure if it is needed. I might have a look at it over the weekend. The files I have changed are mobile.py and content.py. They are in src/calibre/library/server. I have attached a zip file with the changed files. |

Thanks David
Any updates on this? Can I copy these two files on my H20 with no risks? |

Please do correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this all taken care of already by the KEPub plugin?

See: http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/develop.html Perhaps davidfor intends to merge the change into the main calibre code, in which case nothing need be done save updating when the time comes. |
