Ordering reader from Kobo Store

Boy is this frustrating - ordered a Kobo H20 last weekend from www.kobo.com, but the orders aren't tracked by the main site?

I ordered this as a reward for myself for having achieved some personal goals this year, and now I'm really twitchy waiting for it to arrive.....

Others have reported there is no shipping information provided. The device will just show up. Because of this I plan on ordering my H20 from Chapters.

Perhaps you can call/email and request order status.

Kobo handles device sales in a 3 step process:

Take the order, lose the order, ship the order.

I ordered mine last friday. It is free shipping with the kobo store and $16 if you order from Chapters. I would rather put the $16 towards a cover, and 7-10 days shipping, which implies that you don't get tracking info. I always go with the free 7-10 days shipping on Amazon as well. If you want faster shipping with tracking you had to option when you ordered.

BTW.. I ordered last Friday, 4 days ago, and it will get here tomorrow on Wednesday. I contacted customer service to change my order right after I ordered so they did send tracking. It shipped yesterday from Hong Kong and will arrive here in the states tomorrow. Maybe you will get yours sooner than later. Cheers.

How did you contact Kobo? I emailed them yesterday (through their website) and no one's gotten back to me yet.

Same way through the website. Took a day for the response saying they were forwarding the email to the sales. I thought they had ignored me but resolved the issue by sending free return postage.

I had read that they are lax on providing shipping info, even though the site says it will be forthcoming. I ordered my H2o from the website on 10-14. They charged the card on 10-15. I received order confirmation pretty much immediately. No tracking info at all.

On 10-22 I was getting antsy and thought to call them, but the H2o showed up in my mailbox that very day. I had to call customer service a few times in the next day or so. Because of my ineptitude, not because of any fault with the device.

It was my first ereader, and though I'm fairly proficient with computers and smart phones, I was confused by certain idiosyncrasies of acquiring books on the device. They were very patient and I have nothing but praise for their dealings with me. If you want to call customer service, there is a contact us tab with the phone #. Nice folks, great reader.

I ordered my H20 from Chapters late Thursday night. They shipped it out Friday and sent an email telling me it had been shipped. It arrived here in AZ Monday via USPS (signature required). I'm very satisfied with their service. While shipping was ~$16 the price of the reader and shipping was in $CAN so after conversion to $US it came out just slightly less expensive than ordering it through KOBO directly.

Thanks. I ordered mine last Monday, to be delivered to a forwarder in the US then on to me in the Philippines. The forwarder has yet to receive it but I hope they get it within the week. (And I hope I get one with a good screen!)

I wish I'd known about Chapters before placing my order directly with Kobo.

Welp.

Good news and bad news. The good news is that Kobo apparently upgraded me to FedEx shipping. The bad news is, as others have mentioned, I didn't get any tracking info so I had no idea it was coming - so, since I'm not going to be around the house, I'll have to drive to the FedEx depot tomorrow to pick it up.

Ah, well. At least I'm getting it a lot sooner than I expected!

mwheinz, how did you manage to get shipping info in the end? Day 3 and I still haven't heard back from Kobo.

Honestly, I didn't.

I never got tracking data from Kobo. My first clue about my reader being shipped was the door hanger telling me that FedEx had tried to deliver it but no one was home.

Best part - the box doesn't say "Kobo" anywhere on it - the return address is a shipping company in California.

That makes me even more worried about my package. It's been about a week since my card was charged (and the package shipped, presumably). I've emailed the forwarder to ask if a package from Kobo has arrived for me and they haven't gotten back to me yet either. I just hope I get one with a good screen. The way things are going, setting up a return is bound to be a nightmare.

Hope you got a good unit, too!
