Buying the Kindle @ Best Buy or Amazon ?

Found out that my local Best Buy has the Voyage, and the Paperwhite. I can compare and get whichever I choose on the spot, instead of waiting until the end of November for my preorder with Amazon. So it is 6 or one, half dozen of the other, or will I get better warranty/customer service if I get it from Amazon ?

Warranty coverage is the same. Amazon doesn't care who you bought it, just when you bought it. So buy at BB if you want to and be assured Amazon will handle the CS the same as if you ordered directly from them.

Given the issues being seen, I'd try BB first and let your pre-order ride. If you don't find a good one at BB then you have your one from Amazon coming. YMMV

Thanks, I'll be going over and giving them a looksee shortly. I will be able to compare the Voyage and Paperwhite2 side by side, and make a decision.

You can see the demos, assuming they have them displayed. But be aware that individual models vary. So I suggest opening the one you buy, if you buy one of course, while still in the store to see if it is acceptable. If it isn't then make them exchange it right then and there.

That's a great idea, especially since you won't be charged by Amazon until your order actually ships.

Well 40 miles and some hours later I have the Voyage ...... and it seems to be a 'good' one. The screen, to my 66 year old eyes, is a uniform color. The page turning works. Not sure about the auto adjust lighting but I've only just registered and tried out a couple of pages of Sherlock Holmes. I'll report back when I have some time into the device, but first impression is a big thumbs up !
