New version of Kindle app for OS X Yosemite

If you are unable to open the Kindle app after installing Yosemite or if you get an incompatible software message upon installing Yosemite, try this:

1. Find the Kindle app on your Mac and delete it and the supporting files. Mine was in an "incompatible software" directory. Easiest way is to use appcleaner or a similar app.
2. Reinstall from the Mac App store. It will be version 1.10.6 (40499) dated 10/17/14. Any version of 1.10.6 prior to 10/17/14 is probably not going to work.

You will have to re-register after you open the app.

Hmm... I have Yosemite and don't have a problem with my existing Kindle app, which incidentally is dated 26 aug 2012, version 1.10.6

Think the date wasn't updated. In the app store, 1.10.6 is dated as 17 April 2014.

No problem here either. Same version as jeffyen. Mine is dated 9/23/2014.

No problem. I do wish Amazon would fix Kindle Previewer, though. It is not compatible with the latest JDK, and I refuse to install an older one...

Yes I just released I have a problem with Previewer too.. darn!
