Kobo Aura - Text cutting off at the end of the row

I seem to have just started to encounter an issue where each row cuts the last character of in the middle. It's every book and using every font. These are epubs converted from mobi in calibre. Any ideas what's causing this?

I first encountered this when I converted to Kepub, but now I've gone back to ePub I still have the same problem. The screen shot is using the Malabar font with large margins to more easily show the problem.

Just tested: Aura, 3.8.0, Malabar, large size, large margins, epub (not converted from mobi, though). No problems here. Have you tried a full reboot and if no joy a pinhole reset? (Factory as last resort.) Are these books that have worked properly for you in the past?

I'm on 3.8 too. Yes they worked yesterday, until I decided to try calibre's conversion to Kepub, that's when I first saw the problem, but even though I've removed the kepubs I still have the problem. It must be a calibre issue. I'll go back and see if I delete the epubs and start from scratch with the mobi file what I get.

It looks like you have the full screen reading option turned on. What you are seeing is a reported problem with that. It mainly happens with kepub. Turn it off and see what happens.

Thank you, I know I only first saw it when I tried to use Kepub.

I've actually just done a factory reset and am just reloading my books on now. I haven't yet added the Full Screen reading option so I'll leave it off for now.

From what I've been reading, you are better off with ePub then kepub due to the problems with kepub.

The problem doesn't exist now, at present I don't have the full screen reading setting in the config file. I've checked both a kobo download and an ePub loaded from calibre.

I will load the setting back into the config file and I certainly won't be playing around with Kepub again.

Thanks again for everyone's help.

It's a known issue wilth fullscreen.

But you can fix that in calibre when you convert.
Just check here, and it'll be ok

the solution of frenshprince might work but you'll still end up with cut off characters that have a negative right side bearing (if it is the last character on a line). The same for characters with a positive left side bearing (if it is the first character on a line).

Try not to use the margin property but use the padding property instead.
This 'softens' the margins and will display all characters completely instead of cutting of some characters.

Code:
@page{margin:0;} or @page {margin-top:0.5em;margin-bottom:0.5em}
div,p{margin:0;padding:0;}
/* 'soft margins' by using the padding property */
.mypagemargins{padding-left:1em;padding-right:1em}
Wrap an extra divider around the original code
Code:
<body>
<div class="mypagemargins">
…
the original code
…
</div>
</body>
There are several other ways to archieve this by using the padding property instead of the margin property. Try to find a solution that fits your (coverted) book best.

Thank you for your sugestion but how would I use that with Calibre. I never delve into the code of a book, the Calibre settings is as far as I can go.

Thank you Jimmy, only thing is its happening to me with epubs, not Kepubs. It also seems to be linked to changes i make to fonts and margins. Like it takes a few steps to realise that it needs to redisplay. Its intermitant which doesn't help narrow down whats causing the problem.

I only saw the problem when I traversed a chapter (I think). A work around (I did not like):

Start chapter (problem occurs)
Page back
Turn off headers/footers
Page forward
Turn on headers/footers

This was for kepubs.

That's the kind of thing I'm seeing too, especially after I've changed font and then margins,
