I do hope this is the appropriate place to post this issue.
I changed computers and I had copied my Calibre Library folder to a usb then copied it back to the new computer. I installed the latest Calibre on the new computer and use the Library Maintenance>Restore Database option to add the Library since I got a blank library with the new install. The attached error message appeared and I have no clue what it means. It seems like all my books are in Calibre but I cannot know if all is well with them since my understanding of Calibre is very, very basic. |

That error simply means that one particular book failed to be restored. All the rest of the books should be fine. Note that when transferring books between computers, there si no need to restore, instead follow the procedure here:

Thanks k,
Unfortunately, when I reinstalled Calibre on the new computer, I did not stop to point to the library folder, I let it go by. Then I tried doing so from the library icon but I got a msg something or other I think about the path, I cannot recall what it said. Anyway fingers crossed all is well. thx again. |

No. At the time I didn't choose anything. But using the 'restore' option seemed to have worked.
Since all my books are there now, can I assume then that I don't need to uninstall and reinstall, then hope the Wizard will appear etc? |

![]() Switching to any Library folder, by using 'Use Existing at new location' is almost instant. NB the Folder Name IS the Library name you see in the list |
