Replacement battery for Kindle Keyboard
Hi,
I still use my Kindle Keyboard sometimes, it's handy to have as an alternate to my Kobo Glo. The model no. GP-S10-346392-0100 seems to be the one I should buy to replace the ailing one in the KK. I can see them for sale here in the UK for between £10-£15 on the likes of Ebay and a couple of other places. My question is: do any of you have experience with the clone, Chinese made batteries and are they ok? Cheers ![]() |

There has been many discussions of this topic many times before and I always tell people about a Washington, DC company that specializes in batteries. Their slogan is "if it runs on batteries we have it." The company is called Batteries Plus and they do ship, although I don't know if they ship to the other side of the pond, although its worth asking them about. If anyone can get you a replacement battery Batteries Plus will batteriesplus.com and they do have items for the keyboard models.

I don't see a Kindle 3 battery for sale on that website?
I do see one for sale here: http://www.newpower99.com/Amazon_Kin...kindle%203.htm It doesn't mention the country of origin, but I'd assume it is made in China as well. The nice thing about newpower99 is that they'll include tools that you'll need, and have instructional videos on the website. Their help page says they ship internationally. I might be leery about an ebay purchased battery, but I have purchased from newpower99 (replacement for an old iPod battery). No problems with the battery, and they have a one-year warranty. Thank you for the replies!!
![]() As most things do seem to be made in China these days, my question may have been moot to some extent. I just wondered if there were any caeveats or Chinese brands to be wary of. |

I've replaced Kindle 3 batteries several times with batteries purchased on eBay. I've never had any problems. The prices vary widely. Watch out, as some are marked "used" -- probably not the best choice...

I've never replaced a Kindle battery but I've replaced other batteries with generic (Chinese) batteries. Usually the cheap generics have higher a amperage and last longer than the originals.
