Sending wrong format to device
I converted a MOBI to EPUB book with Calibre. Calibre now shows that I have both MOBI and EPUB versions. But it sends the MOBI NOT the EPUB version to my iPad Mini. How do I remind it to send only the EPUB version?
Thank you. |

I'm not asking you to do my homework for me. I should have mentioned that I have gone to Preferences and for some reason, after a year of using Calibre, it has set my preferences as MOBI, EPUB with MOBI being the one it uses. I don't know why it started doing this. But I can't change it. I've even eliminated my email address from the list of recipients but when I re-enter it it comes back with MOBI, EPUB without me entering that preference. My question: How can I stop Calibre from automatically entering MOBI as my format preference? I can't read MOBI on my device.
Thank you. |

Set it yourself, manually?
If you set EPUB as the preferred format, but the preference is not sticking, then something is wrong. Perhaps your configuration folder has become read-only, or says something so weird calibre cannot write to it? Last edited by eschwartz; 10-12-2014 at 03:41 AM. |

I agree something is wrong. What can I do to make it right?

From time to random time a configuration files manage to get corrupted . USE care (Calibr not running) Open the configuration folder: Find the file with your DeviceDriverName Example: Code:
device_drivers_HANLINV5.py Rename the file ...py.BAK Start Calibre, connect the device and reconfigure your device settings. That should give you a fresh start ![]() |

Are you MAILING the book to the iPad or sending it via USB?
The eMail info is ONLY used on eMailing content; otherwise it uses the choices made in the applicable device driver, not only to say what formats your device supports but also to show what priority should be given to different formats. |

Whoops, I think this forum is for more technology-advanced people than me. Sorry for taking up your time. I can see that it was annoying.
