Inundated with price drops
What's going on? In the last few days my inbox has been inundated with price drop notifications? I'm glad the prices have gone down and I've purchased a half dozen I was waiting for but I can't buy 50 books all at once, but I'm afraid if I don't the prices will go back up. Maybe I'd better buy a couple more. Just in case.

Buy what you really want now and can afford and don't worry about the other books.
Sales are designed to make people who won't spend this amount on one time, spend like 5 to 10 times more on multiple items, thus making a $14 purchase into $100. If you get yourself into that habit, you will end up spending thousands. October is the last month they can get people before everyone's holiday sales start. |

I've gotten a slew of them in the past three days.... The price hasn't dropped enough on any of them that I am going to bother to make a purchase...

For US companies, October is a popular financial year-end month. So companies may just be trying to bump up their yearly revenues.
