Unable to add WiFi Network and solution

I had an occurrence yesterday when after trying to connect to a WiFi network with a hidden SSID and no password, all preexisting WiFi networks got wiped from my Glo, and I was unable to successfully add any new ones.

While YES I could scan and add one, it was never added to the list of known networks.

Prior to doing a factory reset I decided to make a new "empty" wpa_supplicant.conf file (well not exactly empty; it contained a copy of wpa_supplicant_conf.template), place it in a KoboRoot.tgz file and load that onto the Glo.

This is amazing. Thanks! My wifi hadn't been working since the first week I got the H2O, but after applying this fix it works perfectly.

Just copy the KoboRoot.tgz file to the .kobo directory.

This fixed the same problem on my original Kobo Aura 6-inch (pre-2016 model). But, MAN, how is Kobo going to push this fix out to the countless thousands of users who DON'T have access to this forum? This is a huge problem.

I can't get it working for me. I have a feeling I may have screwed up the scripts that run the chip inside. It's forgotten all my networks, won't find any networks when I do a scan, won't even tell me that it can't find any until I touch the screen or try to do something else (I let it sit for 5 minutes and it still said 'Scanning for networks...'), and won't do anything in third-party addons like KSM8 or vlasovsoft launcher.

I'm using someone else's screensaver mod, and it doesn't work with newer FWs. So currently, I'm using a Kobo Aura Edition 2 (

) running 4.2.8110. Attached any information I think might help. Let me know if you need anything else.

Nvm, I fixed it by reinstalling the firmware. But TY for your help!
