Only Onyx/Booxtor can answer that. Maybe other bugs/feature requests are taking precedence.

Sorry guys, somehow I missed this thread.
At the moment you indeed can not remove bookmarks from the list of bookmarks (long click on bookmark entry and click on "remove" icon pretend to remove selected bookmark, but after refresh it is still there). However if you go to the bookmarked page, you can un-bookmark it by clicking on the bookmark icon (triangle in the right upper corner). In the next update it will be fixed of course.

But your method don't work: there is a bookmark in the list, but NO triangle in the corner to be unmarked....

Go to
More->Settings->Screen->Show bookmark ( should be Enabled)

I use only the default reader.
Some of the bookmarks (triangle on page) are shown, other are not, but there is an entry in the list. Very confusing .....
