Sideloaded book on Amazon Cloud?

Hi,

I pre-ordered my 1st ever e-reader (new Kindle basic). All my ebooks are non-kindle which I converted to mobi via Calibre.

Since Kindles don't have expandable storage, is there any way for me to store my non-Amazon ebooks on the Kindle Cloud?

If so, how would I do it?

You can email them to you Kindle through Calibre. When you get your new Kindle, you can go the the Amazon 'Manage my digital content' page after you register it. There you can configure the email address for your Kindle, as well as those addresses that are allowed to send to it. You can configure Calibre to use the address in the 'Connect share' pop-up menu. There's 5GB of free storage for personal content.

^ Wot s/he said! XD

A wonderful service, and the only way--from what I can gather--to have sideloaded books sync across your devices.

There is no real need to do so, though, unless you anticipate having WiFi access but not access to your computer.

For a very long time... because you can already sideload ~3,500 books at a time.

Well, yes, you are limited to the space on the internal drive.

You are thinking of the Barnes & Noble Nook.

The Nook restricts sideloading to a 500 MB partition, and the other 3 GB of free space is reserved for downloading directly from the Nook Store.

It's actually 1 GB of available storage for sideloaded books on the latest (and presumably last) Nook e-reader.

Which Nook would that be? I only know of three Nooks:
Nook SimpleTouch
Nook SimpleTouch with GlowLight (first model)
Nook GlowLight (second model)

The latest model is reported everywhere to have 500 MB of sideloaded storage, and (my bad ) only 2GB of internal Nook-Store-usable hidden storage.

Was there a secret new Nook released that only you know about? Was there a firmware update I haven't heard about, which repartitioned the userstore?

Oh yeah, and it seem B&N agrees with me, check the specs: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/p/nook...ble/1114959612

Oh, my, I love looking at B&N's website. They are so good at preserving html entities, which is only to be expected of a big-name website.

...or unless you really dislike connecting devices to your PC. One of my absolute favorite things about my Kindles are the fact that I don't ever have to attach them to the PC. One of my least favorite things about my Kobo is that I do have to.
