This is not 'the big one', which will update to latest FireOS and KitKat Android. My Fire HD quietly updated last week as well. I assume that is at least a few weeks away.

I heard someone say the end of October? I have no idea if that is something official or something I just heard being thrown around.

I LOVE IT!

The system fonts are greatly improved. Tweaked the spacing and layout of much of the interface. The new features are useful (improved battery life, profiles, etc.). Some of the apps are redesigned (especially the Amazon Shopping app) and I think they are mostly a plus.

Also, a lot of unfinished little bits here and there (like swiping up in the Videos app causing a little bar to appear at the bottom of the screen) have been cleaned up and the presentation is much improved.

I also love the recent 5.6.1 update for the Kindles. Also excellent.

4.5.1 now... Will they begin posting new versions every week, hmm? 4.1.1 was built 7 Nov, 4.5.1 is 11 Nov... 4 days to skip to next semi-major release (4.1.x to 4.5.x)?

I like the update quite a bit. Much nicer formatting. Clean fonts and look. The battery life is greatly improved with the "suspend" thing. Now my kindle fire doesn't run down on me so quickly when it's in sleep mode.

Do only five rows fit instead of six now? If so, I can confirm that.
