File Names

I know you can't rename files in the directory structure, but can anyone tell me why several files have 2 back to back spaces? This is driving several other pieces of software a little crazy.

an example would be

Code:
"name of book - author.epub"

@g0rg0n - Is there an extra space between book title and the book number in the book folder name eg

Code:
name of book (123) rather than...
name of book (123)
If so then it would suggest its some 'oddball' character in the title - maybe a BEL or an ENQ or something else less than 32. Try retyping in Title in Metadata Edit.

Otherwise - ???

Which Op System & File System are you using

Yes, the space in the folder name comes before the open parenthesis for the book number.

Some of them yes, have a weird character (#), and ill fix those.

This one baffles me though:

Code:
folder: Indiana Jones and the Dance of the (2464)
File: Indiana Jones and the Dance of - Rob MacGregor.epub
Book Title Metadata: Indiana Jones and the Dance of the Giants
(yah yah i know...its terribad lit at its best)

This is Windows 7 x64. Serving to an an Android KitKat phone.

The extra space is the interword space for the next word in the title, which was removed to shorten the filename, leaving an extra space behind.

So is that something that I can fix by perhaps moving it closer to root directory? Or are the filenames themselves a fixed length?
