i just got the m96, problem about drm

i buy this one to read the library ebooks with drm, the desktop can recognize the device but the book transfered into can not be read, just blank page. even though i deauthorize the device, it is the same, so i think the drm setting is not working.

my firmware is not the newest, shall i update? i have try clound update, but it doesn't work. maybe i need download some where?

Which reader app are you using? Library ebooks (both epub and pdf) require an app that can specifically handle them, such as Overdrive, Aldiko, etc.

i have try the overdrive, it does work but i cannot use the button to turn page. so i want to use the original reader to do this job, but it can't work.

I don't think the built-in apps can handle the check-out and return process.

Overdrive has very limited reading options, so I don't use it.

I am using Aldiko for reading books from my local public library on my T68. It took me a little bit of time to set it up, but it works great. The side page turn buttons do not work, but the navigation pad (joystick on the M96) works fine for page turns.

Thanks, it's better than overdrive. I just got another problem, cannot upgrade. I tried the ota, no new update, then I download the 0902update, putting to the flash and running manual update, still the same result. My firmware shows it's July 11, I think it's not the newest, right?

Once you ask the M96 to update, whether from local storage, or from the cloud, it copies the update.zip file to /cache & then reboots into recovery to flash the file.

If this is resulting in the same version being reported, you could boot into recovery, format /cache & then try to update again. Also delete any update.zip files in local storage & SD card. A factory reset might also help.

If everything else fails, boot into recovery & manually specify the file from SD card to flash.
