A working Sigil-PPA for the *buntu-world

After upgrading my Kubuntu 13.10 with a working Sigil on it, I tried to find the PPA again for the 14.04. However I got an error 404 with the sunil ppa-address. So I searched quite a while and got at last a reslult in the french Ubuntu Users Forum.

The correct ppa address is now

Code:

ppa:sunab/sigil-git

I installed without any problems and a quick check showed me it works. However I have not tested it in any depths.

Please do not use this PPA, but the one in contribution #5.

Otherwise you could quite simply rebuild it yourself.

I believe Sigil to have one of the most straightforward, well documented build processes I've encountered in the open-source world. If you have absolutely no custom compiling experience whatsoever, it could prove a little daunting, but your typical Linux user is usually fairly adventurous in that regard to begin with. *shrug*

Hi,

I've created the sigil-git ppa to track devel updates without the need of compiling even if Sigil build process is quite straightforward. This ppa will be maintained.

I've created another one with the lastest stable release :

ppa:sunab/sigil-release

Don't get me wrong. While I don't think it's particularly difficult to build Sigil manually, I applaud anyone who strives to make the latest versions available thorough the "normal" repository methods. That's the way it's supposed to work. Thanks for taking up this task.

It certainly helps the devs as well with complaints about why doesn't my version (5 versions old) do this???!!!!!!

Tried that ppa but unfortunately it has unresolved dependencies that is qt is too old.
