Connecting fine and not so fine?
Hello,
Liking CC a lot BUT....... Yeah there's always a but. I can connect with CC via Content Server, it pulls all Calibre Library and I can select and download books. Calibre Content Server 192.168.0.3 Post 8080 However when I try as a wireless device. I get a BIG swirly circle (cool) then waiting for Calibre, syncing with Calibre, screen refreshes and I've got the same books sitting on the shelf as I had before? Calibre Wireless Device Connection 192.168.0.3 Post 9090 I'm happy to supply whatever I'm asked for just tell me where it is and I'll go fetch. Seems strange that one way works, which I'm happy with but deep sadness not the other. |

No other device was connected (the content serve allows many connections. A Device is limited to 1 of any kind) Is the port blocked by your firewall? |

When you connect to the content server, CC is a "pull" client. That means that you see in CC the books available on the server and can choose which books to download (pull) to CC. However, when you connect as a wireless device, CC is a "push" client. You use calibre itself to send (push) books to CC. After you connect, look at calibre. You will see a new toolbar icon at the top, Send to Device. If you select a book (or lots of books) in calibre and push that button, those books will be sent to CC. Another benefit of connecting as a wireless device is that CC asks calibre for any new metadata (book information). If in calibre you change any information about a book (title, tags, series, whatever) after you have sent it to CC, those changes will be sent to CC the next time you connect as a wireless device. |
