Referral Limit for Copy

Apparently Copy now has a referral limit of 5 persons (see pic below). I checked my account today and noticed the message "Referral limit reached" for someone who used my link about a month ago. And it looks like the person using the link doesn't get the 5GB either

In light of that, I've deleted my sig because it's now false advertising.

I went searching online and found this discussion.

Isn't it a two sided benefits? Both referer and person being refered gets extra storage? Can you still refer and they get the benefits?

From the discussion I came across it looks like neither the referrer nor the clicker gets the extra storage. Of course, I don't know who here used my link so I can't ask them to confirm.

That might actually make sense. From a business standpoint. You are probably supposed to know the person you are refering. Hard to explain that you know hundreds of people that don't know each other. They might just start offering everybody the increased storage on a new sign up. Abuse is another concern - and reducing the amount you can refer to effectively eliminates abuse.

my account seems to be still accepting referrals, but I signed up very early on. So if anyone wants to have a go

the important thing is to follow all the steps, i.e. sign up, confirm your email address, and log into one of the apps.

Thanks for the heads up. They always said the unlimited referral bonuses was a limited time. It looks like after a year they finally closed the launch. I got 142 GB thanks to all the people here that joined under me. I couldn't possible ever use that much although I wish Dropbox would up their space I am using 80% of my 23GB due to backing up Calibre on it. I would love to transfer but Copy still has several issues with their software that is needed fixing.

23Gb! I only have 4Gb (not counting the 48Gb I have for 2 years from my Galaxy Note 8...)

Referrals, doing small task like link facebook, twitter and uploading directly from camera app. Yes I worked hard for that space.

Dropbox has a special right now 1TB for 99.99 a year or 9.99 a month. Not that I can take advantage of it right now with money being non existent but it's a really great deal.

To me Dropbox is the most reliable service out there. Copy has yet to win my trust. Uploading speed is super slow compare to DB.

If I was going to buy a Cloud service Dropbox would be it.

Ugh! Copy still hasn't fix half of it's issues. Whoever designed their website needs to be gone. Choking on 100 files is sad. There is no move or copy feature either. I may have to give up on them as they just do not like me. 5.5k upload speed is crazy!

I am currently testing OneDrive. If you do Bing Rewards there is one time 500 (475 for Gold Level) reward for 100GB for one year.

I'm at about the same place. I got 275GB through referrals, but don't use much of it because of problems with their website & software. Dropbox is still my go to (also have Box, OneDrive, SpiderOak, etc.), but I'm at 88% usage (of 19.2GB) so have to watch what I put there and have had to move some stuff to other services. I'm just not ready to add another bill by paying for Dropbox Pro at this time.

I have 65 GB on copy now and I just logged on to my account and chose 'Invite someone to Copy' and it showed there that we would both get an extra 5 GB. I went to bonus and referral details and it shows that I got 50 GB in referrals. It also shows the same 25GB limit shown in the first post. So they're showing different messages in different places. My last 5 GB bonus was 66 days ago.

Same here on Dropbox. I just moved 2GB over to OneDrive I'm really impress with OneDrive so far it uploaded just as fast as Dropbox. It's really easy to make 500 (475 if gold) rewards points with Bing. Once your Gold you get 15 PC Searches a day and 10 Mobile searches plus there bonus searches each day which can be 1-5 they also give bonuses for reaching certain milestones. You can then get the 100GB for one year reward. I was using it for Swagbucks 500SB which is $5 or they have the Amazon Gift Card for that but the next thing I am going for is the OneDrive reward.

Are you able to use it though? Uploading seems to take forever now and the site is buggier than ever. I gave up trying to put stuff on it this morning. It kept timing out and I have to close the program then restart it. The website did the same thing.

My Dropbox is very puny (a little over 7GB); my Copy is 60GB. With the limit now in place, I lost 10GB from two people here; one never installed the software and the other never confirmed their email address. Whoever you are, naughty naughty

Copy works a lot better for me now than at the beginning, but I think that's mostly because I slashed my library by about 80%. Also, their search function needs work; sometimes I can't find stuff I know is there. One time they updated the iOS app and removed the search function totally. I wrote and asked about it; I got a response it would be back in the next update, which it was, but really?
