				Paperwhite-cannot find books

New paperwhite. When plugged into MacAir, I can click on finder, choose the paperwhite and see all the books I have downloaded. But, when I unplug the device and look :On device" the books are not there. Help is appreciated.

And make sure that the books are in the documents folder, if you sideloaded them, not in the root directory.

				ah ha!

Thank you. This has helped. However, only twenty books came up, and we had moved 50, "Kindle" version books over. The rest are visible on the Mac Air when the Paperwhite is connected. Thank you for your help so far. |

It is possibly stuck indexing one of the books and that is how the remainder aren't showing up. If you do a search from the home page using a dummy term (like "zxytz"), in the search results it'll find no items but will tell you if any books are still to be indexed (sometimes a poorly formatted book can cause this to happen). You can then click on the number of books it tells you are still to be indexed and it'll list them. If this is what is happening, you can either try and figure out which book the Kindle is stuck on and remove it, or just delete all the books and reload them but maybe do them in smaller batches of 15-20 books, and in between batches, give your Kindle five minutes to index the books and do the dummy search again to see if it gets stuck again. |

Yes! I have moved three into the documents folder and it appears to be working. Thank-you so much. This site is wonderful-Amazon could learn from this!
