PW2: Every link a footnote? How to allow navigation between sections within a book?

I have been using Calibre to create AWZ3 books for KK from HTML files for some years now. (Examples)

The following scheme has worked fine:
  • Latin/English books; each chapter is in Latin & in English
  • Reader uses [E] link in Latin section to jump from Latin to English; then from English part, [L] link to jump back to Latin part.

Simple & effective.

However,
  • PW2 treats all the [E] links in the Latin body of the book, intended to jump from Latin to English, as if they were footnotes, as if the English sections are just footnotes. [I know there's a joke in there somewhere...]
  • Interestingly, [L] links back to Latin from English work fine; like assumption is that we're jumping back from footnote to main body.
  • Similarly, a list of links at top of HTML aren't treated as footnotes either
.

Does anybody know how to format HTML <a/> links so that they are not treated as footnotes by PW2?

An anchor link will link to where it point.

<a href="latin"> to the top of the Latin section will always go to the start of the Latin section.

<a href="latinlineref"> will go to the point you have put that particular link.

For each chapter to have a link is a bit of work but can be done with a bit of patience.
