The Murder of Eleanor Pope: A Michael Gray Novel by noted old-school science fiction luminary Henry Kuttner (ISFDB, Wikipedia) is 1st in the author's vintage 4-book 1950s-era mystery series starring a San Francisco consulting psychoanalyst, free courtesy of re-publisher Diversion Books, and originally out from Pocket Books' Permabooks imprint in 1956.

Currently free @ Amazon (available to Canadians and in the UK), Kobo & iTunes & Google Play (all available to Canadians). You can also add it to your online reading library @ BookShout, but there doesn't seem to be a non-app way to download it.

The others in the series, as well as Diversion's other Kuttner reprints, are couponable @ Kobo. Kuttner also has some US PD titles listed @ Project Gutenberg, so you might want to cross-check if you're in the applicable territory.

Reason: SF meaning "sci-fi", not "San Fran", although he could have been both.
