Mouse-Wheel Scrolling changed in Calibre 2.0 ebook-viewer?
Is there a way to adjust mouse-wheel scrolling in Calibre 2.0 ebook-viewer? It seems that each click of the mouse-wheel scrolls fewer lines than in previous versions. I can't seem to find a place to change it in thhe preferences.

No, it doesn't go by lines, since the concept of "line: is undefined, different parts of the book can have different line sizes.

Can a preference be made to alter the "8" in:

"scroll_amount = ((num_degrees if vertical else num_degrees_h)/ 120.0) * .2 * -1 * 8"

to, for instance, a choice of "1, 4, 8, 12, 16" or "1, 2, 4, 8, 16" or an arbitrary number?

You are welcome to run calibre from source and change it to whatever you like, doing so is very easy, instructions are in the user manual.
