I only have 350MB left on my Glo, while my μSD still has 27GB.
Now, I know 350 megs would still be enough for any future updates, but my eye twitches whenever I see one part of my collection is in the main memory and the others are on the μSD. So now I'm thinking of transferring most of my books to my μSD. And before I do anything drastic, I would like to consult first on how I could do it with the least steps possible. I use the Kobo Utilities plug-in so I have a back-up of my reading positions. Here's what I plan to do: I'll delete the books en masse using Calibre, then unplug my Glo. Then I'll re-send the books to Card A (batch by batch), then unplug it to let the Glo process the books. Then re-send the reading positions using the plug-in. Does that sound logical? Also, I have a few questions. Is there a way to back-up and restore my bookmarks/annotations? I also plan to switch μSDs, since my phone croaked, I have a Sandisk 32GB c10 lying around. I'm only using c4 on my Glo. Can I just copy and paste the contents? Or would my Glo know that it's a different card and reprocess all my books? Should I switch cards before doing my transfer? 'Cause I already have 185 titles on my card. Any suggestions or violent reactions? |

Hmm, actually, you can take advantage of a bug in the driver. It doesn't delete the bookmarks from the database when you delete the books. That means you should be able to update them in the database without dumping them first. But, it might be easier to do the changes in a file. Quote:

Thanks! I'm gonna do this over the weekend. It should at least take up a few hours of my time...

Just a little update...
I tried inserting my other 32gb card, just to see if my Glo would ask me to reformat it (It didn't)... Then, I inserted my original card back, and it reprocessed all my books. My Glo doesn't seem to recognize/remember my cards. So now 185 books are being processed and I'm afraid that all my reading progress might be gone. Update: Yeps... All my reading progress are now gone... It was a good thing that I use the plugin. I just have to copy things... Last edited by hleo12; 08-22-2014 at 06:33 AM. Reason: update |
