Many thanks for posting MOCL 1 -3. Will you be uploading series 4?
I have only recently started reading Reynolds, but he has already become one of my favourite Victorian authors. I'm in the process of creating ebook versions, to be posted on this site, of Reynolds' 'The Seamtress', 'The Young Duchess' and 'Alfred Rosann.' I am also considering tackling 'The Loves of the Harem.' But I don't want to undertake anything someone else maybe working on. Series one of 'The Mysteries of London is available to read online and as an ebook from Amazon, etc. I wonder if anyone is working on the second series? Thanks again for posting the MOCLs, I would like to see as much as possible of this long and unfairly neglected writer's work available. So congratulations on kicking starting the process on this site. Last edited by Gunner54; 08-19-2014 at 08:15 AM. |

Yes, MOCL Series 4 coming today.
I also plan to upload MOL series 1 and 2 soon. The following are the GWMR titles with me in various advanced stages of digitization: Leila, Bronze Virgin, Hogarth, Coral Island, Grace Darling, Steam Packet, Don Juan, Drunkard. Most of Reynolds works are now available on archive.org or in "Reynolds's Miscellany" digitized for 'British Periodicals' and with a tablet computer I find it easy to read pdf files. For reading alone there is therefore no urgent need of full text digitization. But if one wants to study his complete works it's indispensable. Are you aware of Prof. Stephen Knight's (www.profstephenknight.com) paper "The Man Who Outsold Dickens" and his project to write a literary biography of Reynolds? As OCR of the tiny font used for typesetting Reynolds' long novels is not satisfying I prefer to have them typed and then do proofreading. Last edited by melaulur; 08-30-2014 at 11:37 PM.
