How to extract from iPad protected ePub files
I downloaded a certain ebook reader on my Ipad 3, iOS 7.1.2 jailbreaked with Pangu.
So far I downloaded a free book sample (had to "buy" it for free through the website, then login to my account on the app and download the ebook). I'm able to read it on my ipad, but I want to have the possibility to read it also on my computer as well. I couldn't find the epub file, but I found a folder called UnzippedEpub. Inside that folder there where two more folders, one of them is called OEBPS. Inside that folder I found the book. I was able to view the photos, but the html files are probably encrypted, so I can't read anything.. What can I do to decypher it and create the original epub file so I can read it on my computer? I was trying to repack the epub using ePubPack (using mimetype file), so it created the file, but the characters are unreadable (like dingbats) Thanks! |

Was this an iBooks book, or was it from somewhere else?
Either way - we're not permitted to discuss DRM-breakage in detail on this forum. |

No, it was through another app. If it's a free sample why can't I have it on my computer?

I don't know. Maybe you could point us to it, mention the app, etc so we could try to answer in a more informed manner? I'm having trouble reading between the lines here.

Normally stores allow you to download the purchased ebooks in PC/MAC via Adobe software, then you can get the ebook in your PC/MAC.
The software is called "Adobe Digital Editions" and is free. It allows you to download purchased ebooks, read on downloaded computer via its internal reader and pass to any device DRM-enabled. If you only want to read it in any other device, that's the legal way. If you want to save an own stripped copy, we cannot discuss that here despite the fact it is completely legal in a lot of countries. |

Although we are able to say that googling for "apprentice alf" would definitely be the way to start.
