Moving books

I am using the folowing method to mange my library: http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/sub_groups.html

The directions say I can drag a book to a genre. When I try that nothing happens. The books will not drag.

What do you mean by "will not drag"?

If you click on a book in the library list, hold down the button and move the mouse, the book should be picked up. Dropping that on the category will add the book to the category, but it won't removed the book from the list. If you click on the category, it should show the book.

One thing is, if you try to start the drag by clicking on the number at the beginning of the line, it won't pick the book up.

Drag the book sideways, sometimes if you drag it down it selects following books. If you 'hook' the book successfully, you should see a thumbnail of the cover under the pointer, if you see that then you should be good to drag it onto a tag. You can drag multiple books, in that case you should see a stack of thumbnails under the pointer.

Sometimes you need to click the book to select it before you drag it.
