Calibre has duplicate link to same library?

I'm in the process of revamping my workflow system and libraries, so I've started deleting empty and 'test' libraries I'd created over the last few years. In doing so I've discovered that Calibre has two Quick Switch links to the same library, which just happens to be my main library.

One is listed as calibrelibrary - e:/dropbox/calibrelibrary

The other is CalibreLibrary - E:/Dropbox/CalibreLibrary

The only difference is the capitalization. The actually directory in Dropbox is capitalized. I did look inside each library and it's the same number of books, the same columns, the same order/sort. My computers are all Windows machines - either WinXP or Win7.

My main question is can I delete one without it affecting the other? If it does delete both and I have to reconnect the library will I still have all of my settings, searches, virtual libraries, etc?

You may delete (remove) ALL quicklinks, (except the one currently in use) safely via the Library Icon Menu.

They are just LINKS that can be reinstated (includes a new path if you move (change the path of) the ENTIRE Library folder (the folder name IS the Library name)

Just to verify, when I use the Remove Library option on the Library Icon Menu it only deletes the link to the library directory. None of the library settings are affected unless I delete the metadata.db file for that particular library, correct?

correct - after removing its link, calibre should open the book library folder in your file manager.

Those settings are stored in the Calibre Configuration folder (*only applies to That install). The Metadata.db stores the Library (internal) specific settings.

Ok, thanks. I knew I wouldn't lose the book files, but I didn't want to take the chance of losing any settings, searches, etc.

@BookJunkieLI - some settings are in metadata.db, have a look at metadata_db_prefs_backup.json. To see what's there, open with a smart text editor like TabNote or Notepad++ .
