Question General question about Kobo - Not hardware specific

Hey guys,

I've got a general question about Kobo; has nothing to do with their various readers.

I did a search on their website and couldn't find the answer I was looking for, so I did contact them directly but am still waiting on their answer.
In the meantime, I thought I'd ask you guys in case somebody here could
shed some light on the situation.

My mother has a Kobo account as well, and on her account she has a gift card that I bought for her. Her Kobo met with an untimely demise and she's not sure if she's going to get another Kobo. She's leaning more towards a Kindle this time around.

Is it possible to transfer her gift card (remaining) amount to my account?

If she is in a country where eGift cards are available, then she could purchase one with her remaining store credit and send it to you.

(If not, then she might be able to change her address to a country where eGifts are available to make the purchase, but I'm not sure exactly how that works, there would probably be a little loss on the currency exchange. Kobo sells eGift cards in New Zealand, the minimum is $NZ10 or about $US8.50).

I'm a bit lost as to why country was brought up. We're both in the same country; Canada.

She has her own Kobo account, and I have mine.

Her Kobo reader was damaged in an unfortunate accident and now her Kobo account has a gift card balance that she won't be able to use, since she won't be getting another Kobo.

So is she able to transfer the existing funds that's in her Kobo account to my Kobo account?

The country matters because eGift cards are not sold in all countries. If Kobo sells them in Canada, then she can buy one with her remaining Kobo store credit and send it to you, and you can redeem it to your account.
