Custom column: simple text
Hi all,
I cannot find a way to create a custom column to contain simple text just like the built-in "Title" column, for example to host the original title of a book or other shot information. Using the long text column type when I edit the field in the main view (pressing F2) a full HTML editor pops up, but I would like to edit it just like Title. Is it possible? If not, is this planned for future? A patch to implement this would be accepted? Thank you very much, and many thanks for calibre! ![]() Leo |

The very first type: "Text, column shown in tag browser" should do the trick for you. If you dont want iot showin the tag browser just right click on it in the tag browser and hide it.

Thank you it works perfectly.
Perhaps it could be better to just list it as "Text" and to add a "Show in the tag browser" checkbox in the edit form? I would find it more intuitive. Thanks! Leo |
